Reasons To Switch To E Cigarettes Discussed In Very Simple Terms

Posted under Anxiety by admin

I am a 47 year-old smoker and have smoked on-and-off since my teens. Many of those cigarettes were smoked in pubs, until of course the ban a few years ago. One of the great pleasures of the pubs were they were society’s last outpost to have a smoke without having to sneak outside. Alas, I recently read that over 8,000 pubs have closed since the ban, including a couple favourites of yours truly. Ah, those were the days my friend, we thought they would never end. In addition to causing a bit of a social vacuum, this has not exactly been a boon to the economy. There is hope, though, that e-cigs can reverse this ugly trend of closing pubs.

I have recently been persuaded by the nuclear family to quit my nasty smoking since my only form of exercise of late has been coughing, and of course the expense of cigarettes has completely gotten out of hand. I don’t seem to have the fortitude to go on without some sort of social prop, and so I have turned to e-cigs, which actually seem to do the trick. The pubs I frequent don’t have a ban on them, they are massively cheaper than the fags I was buying, and although they do contain nicotine and are therefore still addictive, I feel much more energy to the point where I am actually starting to walk a bit for exercise.

After a little research on the internet I also found that e-cigs do not have the tar and carbon monoxide that regular cigarettes do and are therefore probably much healthier. I do receive the occasional look, but they seem to be inspired more by curiosity rather than judgment or disapproval. I can also be a bit more productive at work because I am not constantly ducking out for a smoke. There is also the clincher that I don’t smell of smoke all the time.

There is hope, inspired by the electronic cigarettes, that the trend in pubs closing might reverse. I hope that is true, but regardless, it is a great relief to be able to satisfy my urge to smoke completely again and still have a social life. I have a couple of mates that have not quit smoking regular cigarettes entirely, but when they go to the pubs they are vapors. I did the same for a while but eventually completely switched over to e-cigs. I imagine they will too after they start to add up the benefits.

Here is a link that goes into more detail on the savings aspect:
